The College Life......

Wow... I can't believe it is October already! It is crazy to think that the last time I blogged I was only thinking about coming to USU. Life has been so busy and crazy I can hardly catch my breath sometimes but I love the college life. My aunt and a few family friends have always told me that moving away from home was a great experience but I was scared to move away from my family. I miss them a lot, but we talk regularly so it is not as bad. I love college. I am currently taking Creative Arts, Math, History, and an Interior Design class online. I like my room mates and have met tons of people up here.... including some boys :D haha. Life is great. I hope I can post some pictures soon.

Festival of Colors 2011

OK so I have always wanted to go to The Festival of Colors and I got to this year. It was so much fun, and if you have not been... I totally recommend it. Here are some pictures!!!!!!!!

Study Abroad....London

Hello!!! So I have been blog stalking (I know, I know, but I couldn't help myself) and I found one blog about a girl who went to Europe for a whole semester!!! I think her study abroad program was in London, England but they visited several other places. As I was reading her blog, and looking at pictures, I decided that I want to do that. I want to go travel and go to school in London. It would be such an awesome experience. I have always wanted to go to Europe, and to travel. Mostly to go sightseeing.
So because I think it would be awesome to go and do study abroad, I checked to see if Utah state has anything or any programs that goes to England or any part of Europe. I know they have some for Asia, but I would much rather go to Europe...... and guess what! They do! I don't think I would do it till my senior year or something later on but it is definitely something I want to do, and something I am thinking about. Just thought I would share....

P.S. This weekend was amazing!!! So watch out for my posts on my awesome weekend. :D

My top 5

So on my friends blog she wrote about the tradition of The 5. The 5 are five people that, should you have the opportunity to make out with them, you could totally do it and nothing you did would count. They can be celebrities, random people you met on the street, fictional people...it doesn't matter. They can be from any time too.

I think this is a beautiful tradition, and like her I want to share my 5. The most wonderful part of it is...no one can judge your 5!

Utah State University

EXCITING NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In my last post I stated that I wanted to go to school full time, and I am happy to announce that I will be attending Utah State University in Logan Utah this fall. I am so excited and can't wait to go! I talked to them and got my application deferred for this fall. I am so so so excited. Right now I am working on financing and housing but soon I will be picking my classes and getting everything ready to go. On March 1st my sister Emily and I are taking a trip up there to look at housing and talk to our financial adviser. It is crazy thinking that I will be moving out soon! I am actually thinking that I will move up in the summer and get a head start on looking for jobs. I can't wait to open a new chapter in my life.... cheesy, but true :)

My Thoughts..........

I just thought I would share some of my thoughts that have been running through my head lately.

On January 30th at 4:30 pm my friend Chris Neil Sperry got in a car accident and died instantly. He was at a stop sign turning left when a red truck hit him on the drivers side of the car. It was a Sunday afternoon and he was leaving our Singles Ward to go home to his family (He had blessed and partaken of the sacrament, as well as attended all his meetings that day). This past week has been really hard for me, but also a time where I have been able to take a step back and take a look at my life. Chris was an amazing man. At his viewing and funeral everyone talked about how he was always smiling and how he was ALWAYS nice to everyone. I honestly can't remember ever being around him and him say something rude or mean about anyone else. He was a person I loved to be around and he was so easy to get a long with. Looking back on HIS life it makes me want to be a better person. I feel like I owe it to HIM and to ME.

For the past year or so I feel like I have been in a Limbo kind of. I do have a job so I work full time but that's not what I want to do anymore. I want to be a normal college student. I want to move out, and go to school during the day and get a part time job. I want to whole college experience. I honestly feel like I skipped a whole chapter of my life after high school. I took classes at night after work but it's just not working for me anymore. I have been scared to go to school because I don't have the money for it and I am afraid of student loans. But after what happened to Chris, I want to LIVE. I want to live my life the way I want to. I want to have fun, and date, and be a student at a college and MOVE OUT! Don't get me wrong I love my family and I would miss them if I moved out, but I really think I need to move out.

Something else I learned about Chris this week was that before his mission (which was to Mexico) he got a Spanish Book of Mormon and read it about 3 times before he even went into the MTC. What a great example. I have been a slacker in that area lately, but again it is something I want to change. I want to grow spiritually this year and I want to do that by reading MY scriptures everyday and praying ON MY KNEES morning and night. That is what Chris did, and that is what I want to do too.

There are a lot of things I need to change in my life. I think that it is sad that it takes a friend to die for me to look at myself and realize that I need to change.
